Quibble's Pirate Armors Leave Tonight
Reminder: Quibble's Talk Like a Pirate Armors Leave Tonight!
Don't miss your last chance to get the Paragon and Mechanical Naval Commander armors or the Arcan Pirate Captain sets! The Naval Commander CLASS and armor will return with NEXT YEAR'S Talk Like a Pirate Day Quibble shop, but none of the other rare gear will ever be available again!
Quibble's Pirate Adventure House Leaving Soon!
Since we had to move Quibble's shop into the game menu, his house shop was temporarily unavailable this past week. So, while his Rare GEAR Shop will leave tonight, his Rare HOUSE Shop will be available for one more week! You'll find that back in your game menu until next Friday starting with tonight's release!

Guardian Shadow Cape Issue
Earlier today, we added a shop to the PTR Tester badge in the Book of Lore. This was for heroes who helped us test WAY back in 2010, and the goal was to let them recover an item they may have lost or sold. When we checked the dates to determine that the badge we were placing the shop on matched with the item we wanted to give access to, the dates appeared to match up... but we were incorrect.
Because players who did not originally unlock the Guardian Shadow Cape were getting it, we have removed the shop from the PTR Tester badge, and in the morning will do a sweep to remove it from accounts which should not have it.
I apologize for any frustration this has caused, and hope you enjoy this weekend's coming release!

How to Talk Like a Pirate
Ahoy me matey! Friday be jus’ over the horizon, ‘nd that means International Talk Like A Pirate Day be here!
Aye yes, and ye best be ready too, ‘cause we pirates don’t take too kindly to lilly livered landlubbers. But fret not, sailor—ye be in luck, ‘cause me ‘nd me AQW Crew has a lil’ lessen for ye in the way o' the Pirate. Yaaaar!
There be Rules, Sailor: Pirate 101
Thee first thing ye need to know ‘bout becomin’ a pirate is ye gatta believe yer a pirate! If ye don’t truly believe ye be a Swashbuckler, then aint no one else ganna be bamboozled! Set ye deadlights on these steps:
Pirates don’t be good at speakin’. We be mutterin’ most o’ our words. Best get used to it, matey!- Ye gatta run ye words togeth’r. Ye gatta slur. Don’t be usin’ no proper sentences, either!
- If ye still got both ye hands, use a motherload o’ gestures. Movin’ ye hands about when ye speak be key to a pirate’s life. It also be good fer protectin’ against Carpal Tunnel!
- Pirates be loud ‘nd lusty ‘nd brash. Thee louder ye be, THEE SMART’R YE SOUND!!!
- Never say “you” or “your” unless ye wishes to walk the plank. It be “ye” an’ “yer” in the Pirate’s life! Savvy?
- Oh, ‘nd it be “me” and not no “I” or “mine”! Fer example, “that be me booty, ye no good two toothed thievin’ scallywag!”
- Drop the “g” after words endin’ in “ing”. There be no need fer that “g” after many words, like goin’, and fightin’, and fishin’, and swimmin’!
- Make up words if ye have to! We pirates don’t be mindin’ a wee bit o’ hornswaggling!
- Pirates be superstitious folk. Never leave port without ye good luck charm, or there be mighty a dire consequence! Me never leaves me home base without me lucky pink skull pendant!

Below be a list o’ the best pirate-speak in all thee seven seas! Best practice these phrases, ‘nd ye then be ready fer Talk Like A Pirate Day on September 19!
- All hands on deck! – A cry that calls for immediate action.
- Ahoy! – A general greeting, meaning "Hello!"
- Arrr! – A pirate’s most commonly used word that has no solid definition.
- Avast! – A cry that generally means “Stop and give attention.” Can also mean "Whoa!” or "Check it out" or "No way!"
- Aye! - "Yes!"
- Belay - To immediately cease or stop.
- Booty - Anything of value that a pirate can plunder.
- Cat’o’Nine Tails – A whip made up of nine knotted ropes.
- Crow’s Nest – A lookout point at the top of the tallest mast on a ship.
- Cutlass – A curved sword, favored by many sailors.
- Davy Jones' Locker – Technically means the bottom of the sea. It is also where the souls of drowned pirates go.
- Grog – A pirate’s beverage of choice.
- Hoist the Colors! –To raise the Pirate flag before attacking.
- Hearties –Shipmates and friends.
- Hornswaggle—To cheat or to lie.
- Lad—A name for a young gentleman.
- Lass - A name for a young woman, usually more polite.
- Lubber or landlubber—A name give to those who prefer land over the sea.
- Motherload –A term for a very large amount of booty or treasure.
- Salt or Old Salt—The name given to veteran Sailors. Also used to enhance the flavor of food.
- Savvy – Meaning to understand or “okay”.
- Smartly – To do or to perform something quickly.

Wheel of Destiny Arrives Friday!
Fate, fortune, luck, and doom all play a part in every battle in AQWorlds... but sometimes, a hero wants to look on the bright side of a coin toss. That's why Shiny, the Moglin of Desires, has built his own version of the Wheel of Doom!
Choose which Wheel to spin - Doom OR Destiny - because both your single and stacks of tickets will work for both! Legends get 1 free spin on the Wheel each day, but will need to choose whether to use it on the Wheel of Doom OR the Wheel of Destiny!
Available in both Wheel merge shop until September 31st!
Each Wheel has the same prizes, merge shop, and drop rates. But if you prefer to hope in bright surroundings rather than dream in a room filled with doom, then /join Destiny this Friday! Friday: You'll be Kraken Like a Boss!
Legends can battle their way to the watery home of the Chaos Kraken in Bonebreak Deep to retrieve the incredibly valuable treasure stolen from Gustav duGrog! Fair warning: this challenge fight is one you'll want to dive into with an entire party!
All players can take on monsters in the Skullpunch map to get resources to create 1 of over 40 Naval-themed tophats! These top hats are available to ALL players, though Legend versions will have an extra bonus to undead monsters!

When her donation email was randomly selected from those who had donated the Dark Caster armor, we contacted her directly to confirm she still wanted to donate the gear. After she replied back, we removed it directly from HER inventory and gave it to another player. That is true generosity!

We asked Moato over email how she found out about AQWorlds:
A friend of our played a game call Adventure Quest(first time hearing it on fact), and I went to the website and made an account and loved it. Then I saw MechQuest, DragonFable, and soon made accounts of those, and soon upgraded with them. But anyway, I saw WarpForce on the side and tried that out, and also saw this game. Again made an account in 2009 and haven't really stopped playing it(except when I'm playing EpicDuel, or other games). And THEN I saw the Design Notes about the wheel and donating stuff.
What is a Donation Hero?
We've got a LOT of people who want to donate rares to the Wheel of Doom. You guys are CRAZY-generous! To do that, please send an email to [email protected] with your account name and the list of item/s you'd like to donate.
One Hero's Treasure can be another Hero's Treasure... but only in the Wheel of Doom!
We will only contact prospective donators before removing items, so be sure to send the email from an address you check regularly.
Talk Like a Pirate Day/Friday the 13th Crossover!
This Friday, Voltaire returns with a ship full of booty and a hunger for MORE LOOT in our Friday the 13th/Talk Like a Pirate Day crossover event! Flashback to the 1st Voltaire event from 2009 as we head back onto a pirate ship to explore parts unknown!

Quibble's Swordhaven Shop leaves Monday!
Quibble Coinbiter's Swordhaven shop has been around for a while, and if Quib's going to have enough time to gather his Talk Like a Pirate Day gear from his time-travel fairy connection, he's going to need to leave soon!
This Monday night, September 9th, he'll leave for parts and times unknown, but he WILL be back on Thursday, September 19th, with a shop full of piratey gear to make you /cheer!

DragonCon Cometh!
And Dragon Rider Armors, Friday the 13th, and Talk Like a Pirate Day too!

Coming Up!
Coming Friday
With guilds soft launch yesterday, we found a few bugs in guild creation and naming but nothing to stop Phase 1 from fully launching tomorrow!
It may not seem like much of a release to you guys, but we've worked for a REALLY LONG TIME on phase 1, Yorumi is still working on as I type this and will still be working on it up the minute we launch tomorrow.
You can look forward to a lot of guild upgrades in Phase 2 and beyond including Guild Halls that you can build, decorate and grow together as a team, Guild renaming options, Customizable Guild banners so your group can unite under one flag, Guild name and banner displayed on your character page, special guild only challenges and more!
To kick it off J6 will have a few special Guild Battles for you this weekend. You will need to work together with your guild as a solid unit to defeat these special challenge fights. You MIGHT be able to take them on with a group of well trained strangers but I wouldn't suggest it. There will, of course, be Special drops and a merge shop to rewards your successful efforts.
4th Upholder Coming in October
October is not only AQW's 4th Birthday but also Artix Entertainment's 10th Birthday! We are planning something larger than we've ever had before for our special AE birthday event but I'll save that for later.
October is also a special time for our supporters as it's your chance to become an AQW UPHOLDER!
When AQW launched we gave everyone who supported us the chance to become an AQW Founder. Since then our Members have the chance to uphold the tradition by supporting AQW with a Membership every year around this time.
Upholders get a special Character Page Badge, a rare Star Sword (This is the year of CHAOS so... CHAOTIC STAR SWORD!) some insane bragging rights and the knowledge that they helped support AQW! There are two ways to become a 4th upholder.
- If you have an AQW Membership that expires ON OR AFTER November 1st, 2012 then you're in the clear. You are already a 4th Upholder and will automatically receive the badge as soon as it's made.
- Option 2 is simple. Just upgrade to a Member (3 months or longer) any time from October 1st to October 31st, 2012. Poof, you'll become a 4th Upholder that very second.
That's pretty much it. I will be posting a picture of the Chaos Star Sword and the badge a little closer to October.
LQS and TLPD Staying
The Limited Quantity Shop and the Talk Like A Pirate Day shops will both remain in Battleon through the weekend and possibly longer. We don't have any set dates on the shops removal, otherwise I'd just tell you when it was.

Talk Like A Pirate Day 2012
Batten down the hatches... It's a Pirate Themed Mid-Week Celebration!
Ahoy, ye lubbers! Today be International Talk Like A Pirate Day and people from all over t' world be spendin' as much o' t' day as they can stand speakin' as piratey as they know how. 
T' celebration was originally created in 1995 by John Baur (Ol' Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap'n Slappy) whist playin' a game o' racquetball as such holidays often begin. For some reason or another t' internet adopted t' very silly holiday and (wantin' t' celebrate as many silly holidays as possible) AE followed suit addin' TLPD (or TLAPD for those o' you who just love your articles) t' our yearly roster o' holidays. It was such a wildly popular fan favorite that we've been keepin' t' spirit alive and doin' it every year.
This year we have a LOT o' amazin' pirate themed items includin', as always, t' Naval Commander.
We startin' doin' just one o' these but last year t' demand was so high for 2 different themes that we made two o' them. This year was t' same deal. People have been askin' for Chaos Naval Commander since we began this strange journey and thar was an equally high demand for a fiery one as well. So we proudly present t' you t' Chaos and Blazin' Naval Commanders.
They be both so amazin'ly beautiful that people be BOUND t' demand their return in years t' come but rares be rares. Get them now or miss out. We also have t' Steampunk Pirate Captain set... 
...and t' much asked for Pirate Quibble rare Bank Pet.
And we be returnin' t' t' ancient tradition o' a rare TLPD House with t' Chaotic Pirate Base built off o' J6's original Secret Pirate Base house which was t' first rare TLPD House.
We've got a handful o' other great items for all players in t' shop but this year we Beleen decided t' add some quests t' Quibble for t' duration o' t' event. If you be a non-member you can complete t' first 3, but if you be an AQW Member and complete all 6 quests then you will get t' new seasonal AVAST Achievement Badge for your character page! (you get t' keep it even after your membership expires!)
This quest line be VERY difficult t' complete unless you be a passionate AQW player! You will need some DoomWood Rep and some Fishin' Rep as well as needin' t' complete some other quest chains like Rakham's Member Only quests!
