Bio: Jim Clarke

Jim Clarke began working with youth while in College and considers it to still be his most rewarding work in life. Jim's work with youth includes church youth groups, rural and inner city schools, Native American Nations, Juvenile Justice System and other youth organizations. Jim has brought his love for youth to his career in the Syracuse Police Department (see his Police webpage).

Jim's work in Adventure started eleven years ago when the Police Department sent him to several training's in Brattleburo VT. They were train the trainer trainings on team building, goal setting and staff development, led by Project Adventure. The idea was for Jim to bring back what he learned and use it with organizations in the Police Department and the Community. Since then Jim has led a couple hundred workshops and attended numerous more training's. In addition to leading workshops in the Police Department (Mini Police Academy, Hostage Negotiation Team, SWAT Team and others), Jim also developed customized workshops for schools (teachers and youth) and colleges, Roberts Wesleyan College, Utica College, Hamilton College and corporate groups such as Exceptional Family Services, Safe Schools Healthy Students, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Contact, Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals, British Petroleum and others.

Jim enjoys working in the Adventure field challenging teens to step up into their roles as adults and challenging adults to be more productive in their workplace and at home with their families. Jim's plan after retiring from the Police Department is to dedicate more time to the Adventure life he loves.
